Joseph Smith was sentenced to death for raping and murdering Carlie Brucia after kidnapping the 11-year-old girl from a Florida car wash in 2004. Florida’s high court has overturned the death sentence and ordered a new sentencing trial for Smith. Two years have passed since Texas mom Missy Bevers was beaten to death inside a church by a killer dressed in makeshift SWAT gear. Midlothian, Texas, police have no suspect despite security camera video of the killer at the crime scene.
