Man tries to hide legless fugitive girlfriend in plastic tote when U.S. marshals arrive: Cops

A Florida woman wanted by authorities for failing to appear in court is accused of attempting to evade police by hiding in a plastic tub.

According to WPTV 39-year-old Krystle Lee Anderson was with her boyfriend, 48-year-old John Robert Carr Jr., on Tuesday when local and federal authorities received a tip of her location.

Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Department joined U.S. marshals this week when they descended upon the Winter Haven residence.

Carr was allegedly lowering Anderson, who lost both of her legs, into the storage container as officers approached.

After confronting the couple, Carr was accused of resisting arrest and taken into custody. Anderson surrendered to officers without further incident.

Police say Carr initially denied his girlfriend was at the location until he was informed officers saw him putting her in the tote.

Anderson was already facing criminal charges stemming from the 2015 incident that ultimately led to her double amputation.

She is facing multiple charges after allegedly entering a Burger King location armed with a BB gun. Authorities say she held the customers and staff hostage until police arrived.

Officers ultimately opened fire on her, causing injuries that cost her both legs.

In addition to pending charges she is expected to face associated with her failure to appear in court, she is charged with false imprisonment, armed kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
