Joe Clyde Daniels: Search team sets out to find missing autistic boy whose father admitted to beating boy to death and hiding body

Texas EquuSearch, a non-profit search and recovery team, is searching Saturday for missing Tennessee boy, Joe Clyde Daniels, presumed dead after his father allegedly admitting to beating the boy to death and hiding his body.

WKRN reports that with the guidance of Dickson County, Tennessee, authorities and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, a group of Texas EquuSearch volunteers and a group of highly-trained K9’s set out on Saturday to find “Baby Joe,” a 5-year-old boy who vanished from his home off of Garners Creek Road in Dickson, on Wednesday, April 4. Police reported that the little boy is autistic and non-verbal.

Texas EquuSearch Midwest Chapter Director Dave Rader told FOX News that the organization plans to “throw everything at it” during Saturday’s search.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, during a 911 call on April 4, Joseph Daniels, the child’s father, reported Joe Clyde missing. Initially, police had no reason to believe Daniels harmed the little boy but after two days of intense searching, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) announced that Daniels admitted that he killed his son.

WKRN obtained a copy of the 911 call, in which Daniels indicated that his son must have unlocked a door in the home and walked away. He claimed he went to the little boy’s room at 5:30 a.m. on April 4, when he noticed he wasn’t there. Daniels never asked for help while talking to the 911 dispatcher and the only information that he volunteered without being asked was that his boy was autistic and disappeared from their home off of Garners Creek Road.

Daniels was later arrested and charged with homicide. Authorities still haven’t found the boy but during a press release, the TBI announced that they believe Daniels killed his son on the night of April 3. Police booked Daniels into the Dickson County Jail on $1 million bond.

“During the course of the investigation, it was determined the child’s father Joseph Daniels intentionally killed his son in his residence and then hid his body,” TBI deputy director Jason Locke said.

Further, Krystal Nicole Daniels, the boy’s mother, admitted she was in the residence when the child’s father allegedly beat him to death. She’s accused of failing to report the crime and taking steps to conceal the little boy’s abuse and death.

Both parents remain behind bars.
