Enraged husband shoots, kills wife’s prominent divorce lawyer before turning gun on himself: Police

A Georgia divorce attorney is dead after the husband of one of his clients shot him several times, killing him on Wednesday. The suspect later reportedly turned the gun on himself.

AJC reports that prominent divorce attorney Antonio B. Mari, 41, (pictured right) was fatally shot in his law office off of the 600 block of North Tennessee in Cartersville. According to Cartersville police Lt. Mike Bettikofer, the renowned lawyer was shot several times at around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.

Walter Samuel Radford, 33, (pictured left) the husband of one of Mari’s clients, Cindy Radford, reportedly shot Mari then left the scene in his pickup truck. Authorities stated Radford then called his wife, told her about the shooting, then turned the gun on himself. Police later found a deceased Radford inside his wife’s home off of Willow Bend Drive in Cartersville. Cindy was not present when the attorney was shot.

The Cass Family’s deepest sympathies go out to the Mari Family! Mr. Antonio Mari was a great friend, teacher, mentor, and lawyer. He will truly be missed.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab is currently performing autopsies on both Mari and Radford.

Mari was a graduate of University of Georgia. He taught social studies for 10 years at Cass High School. Along with his  Cartersville law firm location, Mari opened an additional law firm in Cobb County in 2012.
