Woman beats sick, 85-year-old mother to death after learning she’s not in the will: Cops

Authorities in Florida say a woman brutally beat her own elderly mother to death.

According to Fox News, the victim was 85 years old and in declining health.

Authorities in Broward County believe the motive for the violent altercation was the suspect’s realization that she would not be included in her mother’s will.

The 53-year-old suspect was identified as Gabriela Perero, who reportedly contacted police after the confrontation and as her critically injured mother, Luisa Perero, was on the floor.

On that call, she predicted the arrest that would be coming a short time later.

“I guess I’m going to jail,” she said, according to officials. “I beat up my mom.”

Her call did not appear to reveal the severity or savagery of the injuries she allegedly inflicted, however.

“I pushed her down, grabbed her and tore the skin off her arm,” she said.

According to the Sun Sentinel, the suspect allegedly said to her mother, “You destroyed my life so I’m going to destroy you.”

Though first responders were able to revive Luisa Perero after responding to the scene, reports indicate she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at an area hospital.

The suspect reportedly told investigators that she had been living with her mother prior to the attack.

She was reportedly “enraged” after she learned her sisters would be receiving an inheritance and she would not.

After her arrest, Gabriela Perero was jailed without bond. She is expected to face criminal charges including premeditated murder and aggravated battery on a person older than 65.
