At least two children have been injured in shark attacks on Fire Island, popular tourist attractions off the coast of New York’s Long Island.
CBS New York reports that a boy and a girl have reportedly been bitten by a shark on two separate beaches on Wednesday. One was bitten while swimming at Atlantique Beach, and the other at Sailor Haven Beach, about 4.5 miles away.
Both of the children suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the boy, 13, was reportedly able to walk to a police boat on his own.
