Police are searching for Candace Crump, who’s accused of abducting her child

A mom is accused of kidnapping her daughter from Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York, on Wednesday afternoon. The little girl was checked in to the hospital after she sustained injuries while he parents fought on Wednesday morning.

New York Daily News reports that Candace Crump, 41, mom of 3-year-old Latifah, reportedly got into an altercation with Ricky Jones, 46, the child’s father. Jones, who was living in a room at the Lexington Inn in Jamaica, had sole custody of the little girl, and apparently snatched his daughter out of Crump’s arms. He reportedly swung at Crump afterwards, and during the altercation, the little girl suffered a nose injury.

Authorities arrested Jones and had the little girl transported to a local hospital. Crump left with daughter from the hospital, but when failed to return the little girl to Jones’ hotel room, his girlfriend phoned the police.

Authorities are currently searching for Laticia and her mother, although it’s still unclear why Crump doesn’t have custody of her child. Police did indicate, however, the she has an outstanding family court warrant.

Laticia, a black female, is 3 feet tall, weighs 75 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket with the words, “Pelle Pelle,” inscribed on it. Crump, a black female, is 5 feet 7 inches tall. weighs around 220 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Crump is possibly in the South Jamaica area and may have her 4-month-old son, Jaedn, with her.
