A man who fathered a child with his high school teacher when he was a teen, was indicted on murder charges on Monday, in connection to his son and former teacher’s deaths.
KTLA 5 reports that Felicia Barahona, 36, and her son, Miguel, 4, were found deceased in their Harlem apartment on December 26. Authorities found Barahona with a phone cord wrapped around her neck, while the little boy was found lifeless in a bathtub, where he was apparently drowned.

Isaac Duran Infante, 23, the boy’s father, began an indecent relationship with Barahona when he was 17 years old. The affair began at DeWitt Clinton High School, where Infante met Barahona in 2011. Barahona, a former teacher at the school, invited Infante, still a student at the time, over to house on numerous occasions. The incident costed Barahona her job; she was fired in 2012.
According to a report released by the Special Commissioner of Investigation for the New York City School District (SCI) in 2012, Barahona became pregnant by Infante, and he ended up moving in with her. The report also indicated that Infante told officials that Barahona didn’t want him to wear a condom.
“When he tried to use a condom, Barahona told him that she did not like condoms and not to worry.”
Something, somewhere, went amiss in the relationship, and Infante moved out of Barahona’s apartment before the birth of their son, allegedly because he was drinking rum in the home. Trouble appeared again when Infante reportedly became enraged when Barahona said she wanted to take their son out of the country to visit relatives. He was also reportedly upset that Barahona was dressing Miguel in girls’ clothing. According to Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce, Infante admitted that he wanted Barahona dead.
“He admitted to us he went there because of that, to end the life of Felicia Barahona. While he was there he decided to kill his son as well.”
Surveillance footage placed Infante at Barahona’s West 153rd Street apartment on the day mom and son were killed. When he left the apartment, surveillance footage revealed he was wearing different clothing.
Infante faces two felony counts of murder.
