A Brooklyn man was arrested Sunday for disposing of a woman’s dismembered remains at a Bronx waste transfer station.
Somorie Moses, 40, was arrested and charged with concealment of a human corpse, according to New York Daily News. The arrest comes five days after the discovery of a dismembered body missing a head, arms and one leg at the Metropolitan Waste Transfer Station in Hunts Point. The victim’s hacked off arms were found soon after but were missing her hands.
Not long after the first discovery, more body parts were found at another waste transfer station in Kearney, New Jersey. It’s unclear whether or not the remains belong to the victim, but the station received some of the waste coming from the Hunts Point facility.

CBS News reports that even more body parts were found in the freezer in Moses’ apartment after the premises was searched.
Investigators were able to identify Moses through the use of surveillance footage taken from the waste transfer facility. Cell phone records also helped to incriminate the 40-year-old.
Tyrone Hazell, Moses’ neighbor, was shocked to find out that someone living so close could be capable of that, though he didn’t recognize the picture of Moses.
“It’s disturbing. I think someone who could do that doesn’t have a heart.”
Moses is a registered sex offender with more than eight arrests under his belt. He reportedly served three years in prison for promoting the prostitution of a 15-year-old girl in 2006, and in 2003, he was charged with a non-fatal shooting.
The victims remains unidentified but police will run DNA tests to identify the woman. Investigators are working to determine how Moses is connected to the victim.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
