Woman pulled from burning car by cop ‘angel’– see dramatic body-cam footage

Kimberly Novak has found a new best friend and a real-life angel in a Spokane, Washington, police officer who saved her from a fiery car fire.

NBC KQH reports that Novak headed out for a simple trip to a nearby store to pick up ice cream when her car shut off on an icy patch. She noticed smoke rising from her hood and within minutes, it caught on fire. She tried to get out of the car, but her even her locks wouldn’t work when she tried to manually unlock the car doors. She recalled it was the most scared she’s ever been.

“I’ve never been so terrified in my life. Between that and the smoke I didn’t know what was going to get me first.”

As panic started to set in, Officer Tim Schwering with the Spokane Police Department appeared. He began banging on her window with his baton, and didn’t give up until he broke the glass and brought Novak to safety.

Novak can’t express enough how appreciative she is of Shwering. She joked that he’d probably get tired of her, as she plans to thank him forever.

“He’s going to get tired of me in this life because he’s going to know me forever now.”
