A one-time Survivor contestant was sentenced for up to 4 years in prison for possession of child porn. He is on his way to a Michigan prison after his December sentencing.
While being investigated by authorities for his alleged involvement in a“Ponzi” scheme, Michael Skupen, former Survivor contestant, was arrested after child porn was discovered on his computer.
When Mr. Skupen is released from prison he’ll be registered sex offender. He will have several other restrictions to live with including, having to stay 1000 away from schools, no use of computers, no contact with minors, and periodic testing for drugs and alcohol.
People reports that during his December court hearing at the Oakland County Courthouse in Michigan, Skupen pleaded for mercy, while saying he was innocent and that his children would suffer greatly if he’s behind bars. He attempted to hold back tears as Judge Kelley Kostin told him fate. The prosecutor in the case argued strongly to keep Skupen behind bars, referring to him as a “threat.”
“I think he is a threat. We are asking for the maximum sentence.”
Upon release, Skupen will also need to serve at least 4 years on probation, pay court costs, and $31,800 in restitution.
