Fabio Sementilli was found by his wife and two daughers

A popular Hollywood hairstylist was found dead of an apparent murder in his upscale Los Angeles home this week.

Fabio Sementilli, 49, known as “Big Daddy” within the Los Angeles beauty industry, was found stabbed to death by his wife and two daughters in his Woodland Hills home on Monday. Police and paramedics reportedly responded to an emergency call at about 5 p.m., and found Sementelli on his patio. Officer Liliana Preciado, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department, told the Los Angeles Times that Sementelli was found “with injuries to his face and significant blood,” with stab wounds to the neck and torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities have ruled the death a homicide.

Sementelli’s 2008 Porsche 911 also appeared to have been stolen. The victim’s neighborhood is gated and monitored by home and area security camera’s. There had been several other burglaries reported in the neighborhood as of late. Authorities are not sure at this time if Mr. Sementilli or his family were specifically targeted.

Sementilli has spent over 30 years as a professional hair stylist. He was vice president of education for the cosmetics business Coty Inc. A native of Canada, Mr. Sementilli split his time between Los Angeles and Toronto.
