An Independence, Missouri, man was charged on Tuesday for the fatal stabbing of his wife in their apartment home; an incident the suspect claims he can’t remember.
FOX 4 reports that police were dispatched to Independence Elementary School on Monday after a young child told one of his teachers that his father stabbed his mother. When authorities investigated the allegations, they found the victim, Yadira Gomez, deceased in an apartment off of N. Peck Ct. She’d been stabbed numerous times. A large, bloody butcher knife was found next to her body.
According to police, the child, 9, told authorities that his parents were arguing on Sunday evening, after returning home from church. The boy and his other siblings walked downstairs, but a few minutes later, heard their father, Vicente Roldan-Marron, 46, say, “why did I do that, and it was really dumb.”

The little boy returned upstairs, where he saw Gomez on her bedroom floor, covered with blood. On Monday morning, the kids asked Roldan-Marron to take them to school. The dad dropped them off at Independence Elementary without uttering a word about their mother.
When police detained Roldan-Marron, he told them he’d been drinking and taking pills on the night he argued with his wife. He claimed he “blacked out” and couldn’t remember anything that happened after the argument.
Roldan-Marron was arrested and charged with armed criminal action and first degree murder. His bond was set at $50,000.
