Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie is reportedly in critical but stable condition after an ATV she was driving flipped into a pond. According to TMZ, Jamie Lynn and her husband rushed to Maddie’s aid and struggled to release her from her safety belt as the ATV quickly became submerged. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office told TMZ that paramedics quickly arrived and were able to free the little girl, who is now in a New Orleans hospital.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ 8-year-old daughter has reportedly been hospitalized after a serious accident during a hunting expedition.
According to TMZ, Maddie was riding in an ATV when it flipped over, and was underwater for several minutes before she was rescued and airlifted to a local hospital. According to Fox News, Maddie is in serious condition at a local hospital. Media reports have conflicted on some details of the accident and a representative for Maddie’s aunt Britney Spears issued the following statement:
The details the media are reporting surrounding the incident regarding Jamie Lynn’s daughter Maddie are incorrect. Right now the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family.
Maddie’s grandfather and Britney and Jamie Lynn’s father also issued a brief statement to ET: “All I can say is pray for our baby Maddie,” Jamie Spears said.
According to NBC Charlotte, Jamie Lynn was not with her daughter at the time of the accident.
Spears and her husband appear to be avid hunters, and she has recently posted photos of her family in camoflauge hunting gear on Instagram.
Spears was only 16 years old when she had Maddie. The unexpected pregnancy resulted in the cancellation of her Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101.
