Man brutally beaten for offering to pay for attackers’ meals

A good Samaritan offered to help pay for the meals of two customers standing next to him when they didn’t have enough money to cover themselves. Instead of being thanked, the ungrateful customers brutally beat the man before robbing him.

The New York Post reports that the victim, 37, was standing in line next to two men at the Texas Chicken and Burgers restaurant, on March 1, in Brooklyn, when he overheard them saying they were a few dollars short on purchasing their meals. For offering to help them, the victim is now critical condition at a hospital, but he was able to tell authorities his version of events. He stated that the men became extremely angry with him and start calling names, but the more they talked, the madder they became.

One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s cane and began hitting him on his body and head, while the one pummeled the victim with his fists. Two additional men entered the restaurant and joined in on the attack, beating the helpless victim as he lay on the ground, trying to shield himself as best he could. Shortly after, when the attackers ran away, another man walked up to the victim and grabbed took his wallet right out of his pocket.

The attack took place in front of other customers. Some tried to step in, but failed. Others watched in shock. The incident was also caught on video with clear views of the suspects’ faces, yet they still haven’t been apprehended. Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating these men.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
