Caught on video! Woman disguised in Target uniform steals $40,000 iPhones!

Authorities are searching for a woman who managed to steal over $40,000 in iPhones by pretending to be a Target employee at an Alexandria, Virginia, Target store.

Police are working to identify the woman who disguised herself in a Target uniform on March 15, according to a report by Fox 5.

The report read that the “employee” made her way to the back of the Alexandria facility to the storage room where she gathered over $40,000 worth of iPhones. The woman managed to walk out of the store with the merchandise unnoticed.

Fairfax County police reportedly released a statement about the case.

“The suspect is not affiliated with the store, but appeared to have knowledge of the store’s procedures, employee hours and the location of the iPhones in the stockroom.”

Surveillance video was able to capture the woman on camera walking through the store with a Target shopping basket.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Detective A. Goodger at 703-619-4305 or Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131. Tips can also be left by calling 1-866-411-TIPS(8477), at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or by text messaging “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES (274637).

This case is similar to another Fairfax County burglary that took place in 2016 in which a man disguised himself as Walmart employee and stole from a cash register.

NBC Philadelphia reported last year that the man, wearing a blue Walmart vest, told a cashier he was needed in the office. When the cashier left, the man pretended to be an employee, and even checked out a customer. The man then emptied the cash register of an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police reportedly said at the time that the man may have stolen from other Walmart stores in Virginia and in Maryland.

Like the Target suspect, surveillance video was able to capture an image of the burglar on camera.
