‘Hot felon’ mugshot man Jeremy Meeks banned from the UK

“World’s hottest convict” was detained by UK border officials

Jeremy Meeks, also know as “hot mugshot man” and “hot felon” after a viral 2014 mugshot photo shot him into stardom, was banned from England when he arrived at Heathrow Airport on Monday night. It’s still unclear exactly why he was refused entry.

New York Daily News reports that Meeks, 33, was on his way to the UK. for a magazine photo shoot, but was stopped by security before he made it out of the airport. According to his manager, Jim Jordan, Meeks was detained by UK border officials, fingerprinted, and questioned for hours before he was refused entrance. Jordan said that Meeks had all of the proper paperwork needed.

“We went into the UK and we went through immigration and they detained Jeremy. He wasn’t arrested but they deported him out of the country. They wouldn’t let him come into the country. He is really upset. He was police-escorted onto the plane.”

“It was his first time in London and he was all excited, it was his big debut,” Jordan continued. “He was on the right track for what we feel was going to be his new life. Now he’s very sad. Hopefully this is just a setback and he will be able to come back from this……They basically said, you cannot come into the UK with no explanation. Jeremy is really sad, he’s just really sad.”

Meeks rose to fame after his 2014 mugshot taken by the Stockton Police Department went viral on Facebook. Meeks was serving time for gun possession charges, but his good looks overshadowed his criminal past, catapulting him into a modeling career once he was released from jail.

In February, he made his modeling debut during the New York Fashion Week. He walked in designer Philipp Plein’s show.
