Did he try to bury her alive? Man arrested after missing epileptic woman found trapped in hole on his property

The alleged kidnapper had been hearing voices weeks before

An Ohio man was arrested this week after a neighbor heard a trapped woman crying for help on his property.

According to MSN, a neighbor of Dennis Dunn’s in Blanchester, Ohio, called police to report hearing a woman’s cries coming from a shed on his property.

When police arrived before dawn on Wednesday, they reportedly found a woman buried under wood and heavy objects in a hole inside the shed. WPCO 9 identified the woman as Jennifer Elliot. According to New York Magazine, the 30-year-old woman, is epileptic and was having a seizure when authorities arrived.

“She was in a pit that had been dug in the floor of the shed, and wood had been placed over the top of the pit, and heavy objects placed on top the wood to prevent her escape,” Blanchester Police Chief Scott Reinbolt told WLWT.

The woman’s mother had reported her missing two hours before.

After police rescued the woman, officers stood by outside Dunn’s home with weapons drawn as they waited for SWAT to arrive, according to MSN. Dunn reportedly came outside four hours later, looking like “he was going for a stroll,” police told MSN.

Dunn, who reportedly had a recent psychological episode, was arrested on a kidnapping charge.

“[H]e was hearing voices, he’s out in his front lawn with a gun in his hand” a few weeks ago, Chief Reinbolt WLWT.
