Math teacher ‘adds’ three male students to reported off-campus sexual encounters

A former North Carolina math teacher hadn’t even been on the job for a year before she was fired for reportedly having sex with at least three male students.

New York Daily News reports that Erin Elizabeth McAuliffe, 25, a former math teacher at Rocky Mount Preparatory School, is accused of having sexual encounters with two 17-year-old male students and one 16-year-old male student. The alleged encounters reportedly happened off-campus.

According to Rocky Mount police, investigators interviewed numerous staff members and students before arresting McAuliffe on June 8. The arrest came a little over a month after she was fired from the school and escorted from campus.

McAuliffe’s LinkedIn profile indicated that she aspired to “develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications in student programs to increase student understanding.”

McAuliffe is charged with one count of indecent liberties with a minor and three counts of sexual activity with a student. She was booked into the Carteret County Jail, where she’s being held on $20,000 bond. Her first appearance is scheduled for June 12.
