Do we have a suspect? 17-year-old girl arrested as person of interest in horrific double murder of pregnant woman and her unborn baby

A 19-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn baby were fatally shot last Tuesday, when the woman was ambushed in the parking lot of her Texas apartment complex, Crime Online has reported.

The suspects were originally described as three black men, but now police have arrested a 17-year-old girl, Atayanna Asia Nicole Douglas, in connection with the murder, as stated by KFDM.

This is the early stages of an ongoing investigation and police have not said that Douglas is an actual suspect, but she may have been present at the time of the murders, according to WTSP.

Douglas was picked up in connection to three aggravated robberies in the area, all of which, police believe, have something to do with the brutal double murder.

Beaumont police issued a statement on the arrest, indicating that the murders may have been committed by gang members.

“The investigation has led to the arrest of numerous gang members involved in violent crimes throughout Beaumont. Officers seized numerous guns and drugs and are still in the early stages of this ongoing investigation.”

They also issued a plea to the community, to help with the rise in gang violence.

“Parents, Pastors and Community Leaders please help us get these guns out of the hands of these young gang members.”

After Teel was shot, she was rushed to the hospital where her daughter, Kyndal, was delivered. Both of them died shortly thereafter.

Kera Teel’s husband, Andrew Teel, revealed that his wife died in his arms, during a heartbreaking press conference.

“There’s 118,000 people in Beaumont. Someone knows something. Please, help me find justice for my wife. Please.”

The couple has a 1-year-old daughter, who remains unharmed.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support the grieving family.
