Police have arrested 37-year-old Adrian Nunez and accused him of committing child abuse for more than two decades, as noted by The Fresno Bee.
The California man was captured almost by accident, as police were in the neighborhood conducting a routine welfare check near the home of the accused. According to The Porterville Reporter, Nunez actually initiated contact with the officers, immediately confessing that he had raped a 10-year-old.
After his arrest, more victims came forward.
On Wednesday, two girls, 15 and 12, told Porterville police that they were the victims of ongoing sexual abuse at the hands of Adrian Nunez.
The 15-year-old told authorities that her abuse started in 2005, which would have made her around 3-years-old when Nunez allegedly molested and raped her. The unnamed teenager told police that he raped her more than 200 times.
His alleged serial raping goes back more than 20 years. A 28-year-old woman came forward and told police that Nunez had sexually assaulted her on several occasions from 1995 to 2010.
All of the victims are related, except for the 10-year-old he confessed to raping.
Nunez has been charged with incest, continual sexual abuse of a child, child molestation by force, oral copulation by force, sex acts with a child under 10 years of age, sex with a foreign object on a child under 14 years of age and rape by force.
He is currently being held in the Tulare County Jail on a bond of $1.25 million.
Anyone with information regarding other potential victims is asked to call Detective Orlando Ortiz at 559-782-7400.
