A video of an unidentified 14-year-old girl dangling from a ride at Six Flags Amusement Park in New York has gone viral, according to CBS News.
The harrowing footage shows the girl slip underneath the safety bar of a gondola ride called “Sky Ride,” a family amusement with no heigh requirement.
Then, the video shows her dangling 25 feet from the ground. A crowd can be seen assembling underneath her, shocked and horrified.

After the girl manages to wriggle her neck free from the safety bar, the crowd tells her to let go, yelling that they will catch her. She can then be seen falling quickly, first into a tree and then into the assembled crowd.
The teenager was rushed to the hospital and she is in stable condition.
Loren Lent, who shot the video, spoke to Teen Vogue about the terrifying ordeal.
“We heard some screaming, and I went to see what it was, and she was already hanging,” Lent said. “It was about a minute and 30 seconds before the cable car came to a stop.”
“It was horrifying. I mean, you know, you could tell this person is helpless.”
USA Today has reported that a 47-year-old, one of the assembled crowd who caught the teenager, also had to go to the hospital, due to a back injury. He has since been released.
The gondola ride was inspected and it was determined to be in proper working order, though that does not account for the accident.
“There does not appear to be any malfunction of the ride, but we have closed the attraction until a thorough review can be completed,” a park official said.
