‘Did she set me up’? Suspect blames ‘lying’ girlfriend for deadly threesome stabbing

The suspect accused of murdering a man who had a threesome with his girlfriend claims his girlfriend told him the murder victim raped her.

But police have not found any evidence the group sex was not consensual.

According to the Daily News, Christopher Membreno is suspected of murdering 20-year-old Manos Ikonomidis Monday morning at a Park Slope, Brooklyn, apartment where the victim had reportedly had group sex with Membreno’s girlfriend and another male. A second suspect is in custody on charges that he participated in the gang assault that killed Ikonomidis.

Membreno told the newspaper that he went to the apartment to find Ikonomidis after his girlfriend told him Ikonomidis raped her, but that he can’t remember many details about the attack because he was high. He claims he never intended to kill Ikonomidis but acted in self-defense, though police have found no evidence that Ikonomidis went on the offensive.

“I just wanted some f—ing justice,” Membreno said in an interview with Daily News at Rikers Island. “I wanted to hold him until the police got there.”

As Crime Online previously reported, the victim’s girlfriend, who did not participate in the group sex, received a warning message on her Instagram Monday morning:

“Your boyfriend f****ed up and will be taken care of.”

Police told the Daily News they are still trying to put together a coherent timeline of what happened, and are still looking for a third suspect.

“We have a competing narrative in this case,” a police spokesperson told the newspaper. “We’re still trying to decipher exactly what happened that day.”

And Membreno, too, says he is looking for answers.

“Did she set me up? I deserve to know the truth,” he said.
