According to the arrest warrant, Williams was taking care of all three children overnight on Thursday and into Friday. At some point, he reportedly stabbed all three children to death, but the motive so far is still unclear. Investigators are working on determining why this gruesome incident happened.
Nadira and Williams’ mother, Adrena Kelley, found all three children dead inside the home at around 7:30 a.m.. According to the Washington Post, a 2-year-old child was found unharmed inside the home.
“We all feel this loss,” Assistant Police Chief Hector Velez said. “We want to assure the community that the Prince George’s County Police Department will work tirelessly to find the person or persons responsible for these children’s deaths.”
The Decree sisters, identified as the daughters of Williams’s mother’s cousin, were from New Jersey, and in Maryland visiting for the summer. Kelley said Williams watched the children on Thursday night while she worked an overnight shift.
Authorities said the suspect stayed in the home after the killings, and later confessed he stabbed the children. He remains behind bars without bail.
