An AMBER Alert has been issued for a Santa Maria, California, boy after his father reportedly fatally shot his mother late Monday.
The Los Angeles Times reported that authorities are searching for Daniel Morozov, 9, after responding to a shooting between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday. Santa Maria Police Sergeant Jesus Valle said the woman, only identified as Morozov’s mother, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Santa Maria Police Department said they believe they boy’s father, Konstantin Morozov, 48, (pictured right) took the child.

Police said Konstantin was last seen driving a blue 2015 Volkswagen Golf hatchback. However, KABC reported that officers recovered the abandoned vehicle in Santa Maria.
The pair is now said to be traveling in a 2017 Jeep Cherokee with California license plate 7XZK698.
Daniel is described as being 4-feet-5 inches tall, weighing about 90 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans.
Konstantin is described as being 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
Officials said special consideration should be given to airports and border crossings, KEYT reported.
Anyone who has seen Daniel or Konstantin Morozov is urged to call 911.
