BREAKING: Officer-involved fatal shooting linked to missing AMBER Alert boy; child reportedly found safe

An officer-involved shooting that took in the Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles this evening is linked to the missing California boy, 9-year-old, Daniel Morozov, officials confirm.

ABC7 reports that a shooting involving a murder suspect took place Tuesday, off of the 5500 block of Lindley Avenue. Daniel’s father, 48-year-old Konstantin Morozov, is believed to have shot the boy’s mother dead in Santa Maria before abducting his son on Monday night.

Authorities are reporting that an undercover office shot and killed a murder suspect, likely Morozov, although there is no official confirmation just yet.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) tweeted that the boy has been reportedly located safely.
