Original Story:

An AMBER ALERT has been issued for an Adams County, Colorado, mother and her 1-year-old son who were possibly abducted at gunpoint by the woman’s ex-boyfriend.

KUSA reports that Samantha Adams, 26, and Zahid Adams were forcefully taken from their Commerce City home at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Colorado Bureau of Investigation said Mauricio Venzor-Gonzalez, 22, forced Samantha and Zahid into a gray Honda Sedan with Colorado license plate EVQ-410.

Despite recent reports indicating that the Sedan was found, the Adams County Sherriff’s Office tweeted Thursday afternoon that the vehicle hasn’t been located and is possibly traveling south on I-25.

Multiple agencies are reportedly canvassing surrounding areas for evidence. Authorities cautioned that Venzor-Gonzalez should be considered armed and dangerous.

Samantha is described as being a Hispanic with brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and 160 pounds. The 26-year-old also has a cancer-surviving tattoo and a butterfly on her wrist. Zahid has black eyes and brown hair.

Venzor-Gonzalez is Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. He is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap. Police believe he may have shaved his head to conceal his identity.

It is currently unclear whether Ventor-Gonzalez is the father of the missing 1-year-old.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Adams County Sheriff’s Office at 720-322-1313.
