Body of young woman found in Dekalb County

Authorities are searching for information about a mysterious death in DeKalb County, Alabama.

As reported by AL.com, the body of a young woman was found around 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon in a field off County Road 592 in Henager, a city in northern Alabama. According to reports, the landowner discovered the body while he was mowing a field.

Deputy DeKalb County Coroner Bruce Wilson told AL.com that the death is still under investigation, and an autopsy will be performed later this week by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville.

According to a report on Monday by WHNT News, the victim’s identity had not yet been released pending notification of family members.
