Authorities arrested an Arizona man accused of running over and killing his girlfriend in the parking lot of a strip club as her two children watched.
Ricardo Miranda Garcia, 26, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated assault after he allegedly ran over and killed his girlfriend, Anjelica Morago, 28, Fox 10 reports.
Phoenix Police spokesman Sgt. Jonathan Howard told the news station that Garcia and Morago got into an altercation late Saturday night in the parking lot of T&A Caberet in the capital city. The two were reportedly fighting earlier in the night when Garcia left the house. Morago went out to find him at the strip club where she confronted him with her two children and two friends in the car.
“She didn’t know where he was, but she knew she needed the car seats, which were in his car, to take the kids to daycare the next day.”
The two began to fight, and at one point, Garcia rammed his car into Morago’s.
Morago later got out of her vehicle and was standing in the parking lot when Garcia ran her down before fleeing the scene. The mother was rushed to the hospital where she died from her injuries early Sunday morning.
Authorities tracked down Garcia to an alley way where Morago’s family was reportedly fighting with him. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Garcia was booked into the Maricopa County Jail where he is being held on a $500,000 bail, according to Daily Mail. He is expected to appear in court again on Monday.
