As CrimeOnline previously reported, police arrested Lamora Williams, 24, and charged her with two counts of murder after she reportedly killed her two sons, 1-year-old Ja’Karter Penn and 2-year-old Ke-Yaunte Penn. According to the arrest warrant, she’s accused of turning on the stove after she forced the toddlers into an oven at her Atlanta-area apartment off of the 900 block of Howell Place. The suspect’s oldest son, a 3-year-old, wasn’t injured.

Initially, Williams claimed that she left her boys with a caregiver on Friday afternoon. She said when she returned, she found her children deceased and the caregiver missing. Yet, according to Fulton County police spokesman John Chafee said, authorities “do not believe the children’s mother left them with a caregiver.”
“The children’s mother advised she left the children with a caregiver around noon on [Friday] and returned around 11:30 p.m., finding the children deceased and the caregiver gone,” a Fulton County police statement read.

Police arrested Williams on suspicion of murder. She waived her first court appearance in front of a Fulton County judge on Monday.
Authorities are currently awaiting autopsy results on the children.
