The bomb that partially detonated at Port Authority in New York City Monday morning appears to have been part of a failed terror attack at one of the city’s busiest transportation hubs during rush hour.
Former New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton reportedly said in an appearance on MSNBC Monday morning that the bombing suspect is believed to have been acting in the name of ISIS.

According to the New York Post, the suicide bomber suspect is a Bangladesh native, 27, who currently lives in Brooklyn.

He was reportedly carrying a metal pipe bomb that is believed to have detonated prematurely.
The suspect has been seriously injured and reportedly told investigators that he made the explosive device himself at the electrical company where he works. He is currently being treated at Bellevue Hospital.

Police have not yet released the suspect’s name.
