‘Christian’ volunteer and aspiring pastor murders wife and two little girls just days before Christmas: Police

An aspiring pastor is behind bars after he reportedly killed his family on Sunday afternoon in the Kelowna, Canada, home.

CTV Vancouver reports that Jacob Daniel Forman, 34, is facing three murder charges after Kelowna police officers discovered the bodies of his wife, Clara Forman, and their two daughters, Karina and Yesenia, dead in their home. Authorities haven’t yet announced how the victims died or any possible motive. Although they were killed on Sunday, officers didn’t find the victims until Tuesday.

The couple met in Mexico but moved to Kelowna around 10 years ago, where Cara eventually became a fitness instructor and Forman a plumbing and heating company supervisor. In his spare time, the supposed devout Christian volunteered at a small, local church. On surface, Forman seemed to be a happy father, often posting videos of himself and his children on social media. His attorney, Glenn Verdurmen, couldn’t provide a reason as to why the tragedy occurred.

“Obviously he’s facing the worst possible thing he could be facing at this point in time. I can’t really speak for him, but he’s obviously holding up in court today, and I’m able to take instructions from him.”

Global News reports that Forman was arrested and appeared in court on Thursday, where a judge denied him bond. Forman reportedly showed no emotion during his brief court appearance. He’s scheduled to appear in court in January.

Meanwhile, a community mourns the loss of three lives.

“They were just very nice people,” said care-aid Gail Baran. You would never ever think that from that family, they were very down to earth people. He would go to work everyday and appeared to be such a gentleman. It’s a shock for all of us here.”
