Authorities have released the identities of the four people who were horrifically murdered in upstate New York on Tuesday, as reported by New York Post.
The victims were Shanta Myers, 36, her partner Brandi Mells, 22, and Myers’ two children, Jeremiah, 11, and Shanise, 5.
Myers has been described as an outgoing mom who was endlessly devoted to her two children.
“She was just a very sweet, sweet girl,” friend and former neighbor Equasia Watson told the newspaper.
“My son played with her son. We had dinners together. She took her kids to school. She went to work. She got her kids from school. She was always with them kids — she was a great mother.”
Reporters have indicated that Myers worked at a homeless shelter, in addition to a fast food restaurant, before the slayings. Additionally, police have released the manner by which they were murdered, with each of the victims being found bound with their throats cut, according to NY Daily News.

The murders have shaken the number of small communities that exist along the Hudson River.
“There are certainly reasons to be fearful,” Troy Pastor Jackie Robinson Sr. told the Albany Times Union.
“We don’t know who did it. Until we find out, it certainly makes sense to be vigilant and keep your doors locked.”
These brutal crimes even managed to unnerve local police, as previously reported by CrimeOnline.
“After being in this business for almost 42 years, I can’t describe the savagery of this,” Troy police chief James Tedesco said during a press conference.
“I don’t have the word.”
Authorities, as of this writing, have no suspects or persons of interest in the case, though Tedesco has noted that he does not believe this was a random act of violence, suggesting that Myers, Mells and the two kids knew the perpetrator or perpetrators in some way.
