Chrissy Teigen fights troll claiming daughter is in Pizzagate child sex ring: ‘This is really scary’

Chrissy Teigen on Saturday expressed alarm after a Twitter user claimed the model’s 1-year-old daughter was being trafficked in an underground pedophilia ring, the Daily Mail reports.

Liz Crokin, who purports to be an author and journalist, tweeted photos of Luna, the daughter of Teigen and her husband, John Legend.

In the images, which Teigen had previously tweeted out, Luna is seen dressed as a hotdog, pineapple and as Alice in Wonderland. Teigen used a pizza emoji in one of the photos.

Crokin asserted the costumes and symbols indicated Luna was part of Pizzagate, the debunked right-wing conspiracy theory that claims Democrats are involved in a child sex ring based at a Washington, D.C., pizza restaurant.

Teigen initially tweeted on Saturday: “’Alright. I debated saying something about this but I’m pretty disturbed over here. The fact that there are people with these…thoughts…is really scary.”

She later tweeted that she believed Crokin was suggesting she and Legend are “’darksided pizzagate pedophiles who traffic our daughter.”

“Ummmmm this is really scary sh*t,” Teigen added.

Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, offered support to Teigen on Twitter.

Clinton, who herself has been trolled online, wrote: “Chrissy, sending you & beautiful Luna a huge hug. It is awful & never ok when people threaten or demean any child. I’ve lost count of the Twitter accounts who’ve threatened Charlotte with #FGM. While I never bother to report threats against me, I now report every one against her.”

The acronym FGM may refer to female genital mutilation. Clinton’s daughter Charlotte is 3 years old.

Teigen replied to Clinton, writing: “I feel silly even worrying about this in comparison to the magnitude of slander and threats you and your family have dealt with for decades. These people are truly sick and scary. Love to you, Charlotte and Marc!!”

Twitter removed Crokin’s verification after Teigen took issue with it.

“Thank you, Twitter, for verifying somebody who is essentially accusing me (with pictures of my daughter) of child abuse and pedophilia to their 50,000 followers,” she wrote.

Legend and Teigen have threatened to sue Crokin in response.

Teigen summed up the experience in a follow-up tweet on Sunday:

As for Crokin, she has pinned a tweet on her profile page seeking donations. She claims that she has been censored and punished for exposing sex traffickers.
