A Tennessee girl is facing charges as a juvenile after police say she stole a gun from a car in a parking lot and after handling the gun and pointing it at others, shot her friend to death on early Sunday morning.
FOX News reports that a 12-year-old girl who remains unnamed due to her age, snuck out of her grandmother’s Nashville apartment with several friends, and began burglarizing cars in the area. They found a loaded semi-automatic pistol in a car in a parking lot, then took it back to the girl’s grandmother’s apartment. Once inside, the suspect started pointing the gun at the other girls, and accidentally shot 16-year-old Brentrice Wilson.

According to police, Brentice died from the gunshot wound. Someone called authorities at around at 3:25 a.m., and when they arrived, they found several minor girls inside the apartment, and Brentice on the floor, lifeless. The Metro Nashville Police Department said the 12-year-old was charged with criminal homicide at the city’s Juvenile Court.
