Plenty of Americans are celebrating the fact that disgraced former Olympic doctor Larry Nassar is now serving his extended sentences in a high-security federal prison in Arizona. His mode of transportation from a Detroit airport to Tucson, however, is raising some eyebrows.

According to TMZ, Nassar was seen boarding a private jet at Detroit Metro Wayne County Airport in freezing temperatures en route to Arizona.

The outlet, which published an exclusive photo of the airport encounter, noted the absence of a coat for the one-time doctor who sexually abused numerous patients — including several prominent Team USA gymnasts.

Nassar was reportedly in the air for more than four and a half hours, apparently handcuffed and under close watch the entire time.

Authorities did not confirm or deny any of TMZ’s reports regarding the private jet flight.

“Due to security reasons, we do not share information on methods of prisoner transportation,” a Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told the outlet.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Nassar faced sentencing three separate times for charges that also included possession of child pornography.

He was most recently sentenced to between 40 and 125 years in prison for abuse that occurred at a gymnastics training center in Michigan.

That sentence was imposed after dozens of former members of the Twistars gymnastics club testified that he penetrated or otherwise molested them during medical examinations.

Judge Janice Cunningham said during the sentencing hearing that Nassar “robbed these girls and women of one of the most truly important human qualities: trust.”
