Authorities in Oklahoma have issued an Amber Alert in response to reports of a 7-month-old boy violently abducted from his mother by his biological father.

According to KWCH, police in Norman are looking for the suspect, Victor Manuel Minjarez and his son, Jody Minjarez.

Reports indicate the baby was taken on Feb. 23.

On the day of the Jody Minjarez’s disappearance, the suspect allegedly attacked the child’s mother in a violent incident that ended when he ran from the woman’s home with his son in tow.

Through communication he had subsequently had with one of his friends, Victor Minjarez allegedly sent the mother a threatening message warning that she would never see her son again.

Police say that message combined with other information obtained during the investigation has led them to treat the suspect as if he poses a serious threat to the child’s safety.

Following the alleged abduction, the mother was reportedly able to obtain an emergency victim protective order that compelled Minjarez to return the boy to his mother’s custody.

Of course, he has not complied with that order and police ran into an early roadblock in their search for him because he is currently homeless and has no known place of residence.

Authorities advise that he is likely in the greater Oklahoma City area and is believed to be driving a 2008 Cadillac Escalade with Oklahoma tags reading 128KNQ.

Anyone with information about the possible whereabouts of either Jody or Victor Minjarez is urged to contact the Norman Police Department by calling 405-321-1444.
