WITHOUT A TRACE: After 15-year-old’s disappearance, deputies warn she might be in danger

Florida police are searching for a 15-year-old girl who went missing late last month, as reported by WPTV.

Alexa Westwater was last seen in Boyton Beach, an area just south of West Palm Beach, on February 28. She has not been heard from since and deputies fear she may be in danger, categorizing her as a “missing and endangered teen.” Authorities have also noted that her phone has been turned off.

Colleen Hernandez issued an emotional plea for help in locating her daughter, as reported by Palm Beach Post.

“I just need to hear her voice and know that she’s safe,” the mother said, adding that the girl enjoys soccer, softball and attending to her 1-year-old sister.

Investigators say Westwater has blonde hair, though they have reason to suspect that she may have recently dyed it black. She wears braces and has green eyes. She also has her left ear cartilage pierced and scars on her arms and thighs.

Hernandez said Westwater had run away before but never for this amount of time and never without contacting home. Police have reason to believe that she may be in the Broward County area, south of Boynton Beach. They have not released the names of any suspects.

Anyone with information as to the location of the missing teen is urged to call the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at 561-688-3400, or the nearest law-enforcement agency.
