Man found with 58 TERABYTES of child porn, police say

A single terabyte can hold 310,000 photos or 500 hours of video. Multiply that by 58.

A Texas man was arrested this week after officers executing a search warrant allegedly discovered 58 terabytes of child pornography on his electrical devices.

According to The Houston Chronicle, Richard Belden, 39, was arrested after the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and the Plano Police Department carried out a search warrant at his Allen home early Tuesday.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the Collin County Sheriff’s Office said they seized the electronic devices containing the illicit data.

One terabyte is equal to 1,000 gigabytes. Research by the University of Oregon found that a single terabyte can hold 310,000 photos or 500 hours of video.

Belden was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one charge of possession with the intention to promote child pornography.
