Mom of 4 killed, 3 others injured, when ex runs her over repeatedly as she crosses street: Cops

Authorities in Texas are looking for a man named as a person of interest in connection with a truck rampage that left a Houston mother dead and several other victims injured.

According to KHOU, police believe Rigoberto Alexander Escobar ran over his ex-girlfriend repeatedly on Sunday morning.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Dixa Rios, a mother of four. Local reporters spoke to her relatives who indicated she will be buried in her native Honduras.

Three other individuals, 46-year-old Maneesh Roberts, 32-year-old Celso Velasquez and 36-year-old Adan Salgado, were also reportedly injured. They were near Rios at the scene of the crash in the 5200 block of Telephone Road in southeast Houston.

All three were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for injuries including possible broken bones.

Rios might have been crossing the street in the direction of JoJo’s night club, police said.

“Suspect drove into a small crowd of people before fleeing the scene,” police confirmed in a statement on the subject. “One person is dead, others have been transported to area hospitals.”

As of preliminary police reports, Escobar had not been charged with a crime in connection with the incident. Investigators are asking the public for information regarding his possible whereabouts.

Houston police indicate he was driving a mid-2000s Ford F-150 pickup truck at the time of the incident. The truck’s license plates are reported to be GTJ7427.

Individuals with information about the case or the whereabouts of the person of interest can contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division by calling 713-308-3600 or leave an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers at 713222-8477.
