A New York City man is on the run after allegedly chopping off his pregnant wife’s right arm and two of her left fingers at their home on Thursday.
The New York Daily News reported that Yong Lu, 35, used a steak knife to hack off Yang Li’s arm below her biceps. While the Daily News indicated Thursday that Li was in critical condition and doctors couldn’t reattach her limbs, the police told the New York Post Friday that surgeons successfully reattached her arm.

Police said Li was waiting for her 7-year-old son to return home from school when Lu flew into a rage that ended with him nearly hacking his wife to death. Officers who arrived at the Brooklyn home found Li bleeding out and Lu nowhere to be found, according to the Post.
Officials told the newspaper that Li was placed into a medically-induced coma. However, she’s currently listed in critical but stable condition, according to the Brooklyn Reporter.
Meanwhile, police continue to search for Lu, who is wanted for felonious assault. He’s described as being 5’8″ tall and 160 pounds and having black hair and brown eyes.
