MISSING: Cops, family desperate for clues as 17-year-old girl wearing pajamas disappears from her home

Authorities in South Carolina are calling on locals for help as they attempt to locate a teenager who has not been seen in several days.

According to WTGS,, 17-year-old Emily White was last seen wearing her pajamas at her family’s residence in Windmill Harbour.

Officials say she has not been seen since Thursday at about 9 p.m.

Beaufort County sheriff’s deputies are heading up the search, as described on Saturday in a press release from the law enforcement agency.

Friends and family on social media have shared images and pleas for assistance.

“As of this afternoon, 17-year-old Emily White — last seen Thursday night at her Windmill Harbour, Hilton Head Island residence — remains missing and her family is concerned for her safety,” the Beauford County Sheriff’s Department advised. We are asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to please call Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch 843-524-2777.”

The agency included a recent photograph of the missing girl and expressed appreciation for the assistance of those in the community as the search continues.

“We appreciate your partnership and continued commitment to the safety of our community,” the statement concluded.

In addition to photographs, media reports offered additional physical descriptions.

Emily White has multiple ear piercings and a tattoo on her hip that reads “Be Still.”

She often wears multiple bracelets and a gold necklace with an opal charm.
