The search for a teen and her grandmother who disappeared from Virginia has intensified as a full week nears with no answers to their whereabouts.
News Leader reports that although suspect Hareton Jaime Rodriguez Sariol is in police custody, 12-year-old Angie Carolina Rodriguez Rubio and her grandmother, 48-year-old Elizabeth Rodriguez Rubio, remain missing. According to authorities, the suspect, whose said to be infatuated with Elizabeth, picked the pair up on Sunday at the Dukes Plaza off of 2347 South Main Street in Harrisonburg. They were last seen at the shopping center at around 1:30 p.m.
Sariol was supposed to take Angie and Elizabeth to their home in Maryland, but they never showed up. Subsequently, authorities issued an AMBER Alert for Angie and put Elizabeth’s name and details into a nationwide missing persons database.

“We don’t know anything at all regarding their location and everybody’s very worried and very stressed about the situation,” Elizabeth’s son and Angie’s uncle, David Barrero, told WHSV. “Most of us are having nightmares at night.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, police arrested Rodriguez-Sariol on Tuesday, in Lackawanna, Pennsylvania, shortly after the first vehicle he was reportedly traveling in “caught on fire” in Warren County.
“The abductor’s vehicle in which they were all believed to be traveling in was involved in a vehicle fire on I-66 in Warren County,” the AMBER Alert noted.
Police later found Rodriguez-Sariol in a white 2000 Volvo tractor trailer, but there were no signs of Angie and her grandmoher. Investigators are currently searching the tractor trailer, owned by AMG Express, for evidence and information. HPD Lt. Pete Ritchie Ritchie said the vehicle was likely stolen.
