BREAKING: One dead after shooting in same neighborhood mystery woman in broken wrist shackles rang doorbells

Texas police say a “suspicious” has occurred in a Montgomery neighborhood that made headlines this week after a partially dressed woman wearing broken shackles reportedly rang random strangers’ doorbells in the dead of the night.

Houston Chronicle reports that the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred in the Sunrise Ranch subdivision. Authorities confirmed that one person is dead but the identity of the victim is not yet available. The incident happened off of the 18400 block of Sunrise Pines.

Access to the subdivision is currently blocked off while authorities continue to investigate. Police indicated that an update will be provided after they gather additional information.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, authorities are searching for a woman who approached a stranger’s home in the middle of the night on Friday and rang the doorbell while wearing a t-shirt and broken wrist shackles.

The incident occurred at a home in the Sunrise Ranch area of Montgomery. At around 3:30 a.m., a surveillance camera captured the woman ringing the doorbell of a home before fleeing. According to another resident in the neighborhood who didn’t want to give their identity, the woman rang several doorbells of homes in the neighborhood but apparently left when she didn’t get anyone to answer.

Police arrived after a concerned citizen called for police assistance. Officers canvassed the neighborhood thoroughly and went door-to-door questioning the neighborhood’s residents. The woman’s identity still remains a mystery.

“Numerous citizens in the state and outside have sent missing persons flyers suggesting the women in the video is a missing person from their area,” the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said. “Deputies and Detectives are reviewing these flyers for any similarities, but as of now none are believed to be the women in the video.”

ne of the neighbors, who didn’t want to be identified, said the woman rang her bell around 20 times.

“We were dead asleep in our beds. My husband was woken up by doorbell ring. It rang probably 20 to 30 times,” the neighbor said, according to Click2Houston. “He walked outside no one was in sight. It’s like she disappeared in thin air.”

Another resident, paramedic Alicia Simmons, said the mystery woman had something on her that appeared as if she was restrained.

“That long piece that a lot of people think is a lanyard looks like the long piece from the restraints that they use to like…..they put it on your hand and tie it something else. On her other hand you can see there is a broken handcuff there.”

Anyone with any information on the mystery woman is urged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800.
