BREAKING: Suspect accused of fleeing with 14-year-old AMBER Alert girl is captured

A man accused of leaving Arizona with a teen girl was arrested in Nevada on Sunday, following a nationwide AMBER Alert.

FOX13 reports that police located Jonathan Carson, 21, in Mesquite and arrested him after he allegedly fled Surprise, Arizona, with Aubrey Gardner, 14. The girl was located safe, according to preliminary reports. Investigators are still trying to determine the details on how she disappeared.

“Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding Aubrey’s disappearance,” Surprise Police Department wrote.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Aubrey was last seen on Saturday in Mesquite and reported missing later that day. Authorities indicated she was likely with Carson, but the relationship between the pair remains unclear.

Carson is facing several charges, including felony warrants for military service desertion, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest. According to CBS8, he’s also facing charges for battery on a police officer.
