A Colorado who disappeared on Monday was found safe on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Denver Post. Police located her in the Hoffman Heights neighborhood in Aurora.

Original Story

Colorado authorities are searching for a young girl who never made it school on Monday and hasn’t returned to her Aurora home.

Denver Post reports that 10-year-old Daniela Ruano-Morales was last seen at around 10 a.m., off of the 1900 block of Elmira Street in Aurora on Monday. Police indicated that the child has no physical or mental disabilities but is considered “missing and endangered” because of her age.

The spokesperson for the Aurora Police Department, Crystal McCoy, said that it appeared that Daniela missed school voluntarily on Monday but it’s highly “unusual” that she would run away. If she did run away, this would be the first time according to what McCoy has been told so far.

“It appears that she left on her own. It is unusual for her to run away, especially for this period of time. She was intentionally out of school yesterday. (The parents) are very distraught but they are very cooperative at this time.”

Daniela’s parents told authorities she appeared upset on Monday morning, but there was no fights or arguments.

Authorities didn’t issue an AMBER Alert for the child since there is nothing yet pointing to abduction.

Daniela is a Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands 4-feet-10-inches tall and weighs around 65 pounds. She was last seen wearing floral jogging pants and a gray tank top.

Authorities continued the search on Tuesday, utilizing K-9s and drones in the search efforts. The FBI has also joined in.

Anyone with any information on Daniela’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Aurora police tip line at 303-627-3100.
