AMBER Alert: Dad possibly hiding inside apartment with abducted 3-week-old son after reportedly firing gunshots at baby’s mother **FOUND SAFE**

Tennessee authorities searching for a missing 3-week-old boy stated the baby may be inside a Memphis apartment with his father. Police are attempting to make communication with the man.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports that Stevie Boyd, the non-custodial father of 3-week-old Steven Smith, is accused of abducting the baby from his mother’s home at the Peppertree Apartments, located off of the 4200 block of Graceland Avenue in the Whitehaven area of Tennessee. The baby’s mother reported him missing on September 18 at around 9:30 p.m.

According to police, Boyd fired gunshots at the baby’s mother before fleeing with the child.

So far, no contact has been made with Boyd, but authorities are currently attempting to communicate with him, according to Memphis police. He’s thought to be in an apartment in the same complex where he reportedly abducted the baby. As a safety precaution, police asked people in apartment homes close to the one the suspect may be in to leave until the situation is contained.

The story is still developing. Check back with CrimeOnline as additional details become available.
