Two people are dead after a gunman shot them at a Florida mall on Tuesday night, authorities announced.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was celebrating her birthday at TGI Fridays at the Bell Tower Shops mall in Fort Myers on Tuesday night when a gunman approached her family as they left the restaurant. The suspect shot the woman’s husband, identified as Kevin Robinson, 56, causing fatal injuries. Her son, identified as Javarcia Riggins, 22, attempted to run away but was also fatally shot.
Two other people, yet to be identified, were wounded. One of the victims remains in critical condition after being shot, while the other has been treated for minor glass injuries.
“Two people succumbed to their injuries, and two have been taken to a local area hospital. Their injuries are unknown,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said.

The shooter and victims apparently knew each other, according to Marceno, who said the suspect “targeted” the victims. Authorities are still searching for the gunman.
“This is not random. This was a targeted incident,” Marceno said during a press brief.
