Child star Jason James Richter, star of the 1993 film “Free Willy,” was apparently arrested for domestic violence and vandalism on Monday in Los Angeles.
People reports that the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division arrested Richter at around 11:45 p.m
“We filed two misdemeanor counts against him, one is for battery on a significant other that did not cause injury and the second count of vandalism. 18 months is the maximum exposure for both counts,” City attorney spokesperson Frank Mateljan told the outlet. “There was a physical altercation between them and at some point, he allegedly kicked in the door and that is where the vandalism charge comes from.”

According to TMZ, the alleged altercation occurred after Richter reportedly asked his girlfriend if she was having a secret affair with one of her co-workers. She later filed a report claiming the actor left, then returned and kicked down the bedroom door after she locked herself in. He then allegedly grabbed her wrists, but authorities reportedly did not see “any visible marks” on her.
According to court documents, the girlfriend went to the police station four hours after the incident and filed the report.
