“[Emergency Service Unit] and the NYPD bomb squad are on scene,” tweeted New York Police Department Public Information Officer J. Peter Donald. “More info when available. The first floor of the mall remains open.”
The suspicious “pair of packages” were reportedly found on the third floor, which was evacuated along with the second floor.
One of several bomb threats this week involved the intended recipient of a package sent via CNN’s headquarters in Time Warner Center. Discovery of that device prompted a larger evacuation on Wednesday morning.
